INTERNAL INFORMATION

To:                   Account Manager

From:               Maureen Rourke, intern

Subject:            Automotive Monthly Newsletter Meeting

Date:                October 7, 2002

The recent meeting with the Undisclosed Automotive Manufacturer discussed the upcoming issue of their internal monthly newsletter.  This conference was informative and educational for me since I am an intern within the marketing field.  The representatives presented creative briefs on possible stories and information for the next issue.

Summary

The UAM representatives were helpful informing me of the business at hand and what the expected outcome of the meeting was intended to be.  They introduced the current updates on the company to my account manager and myself.  We returned to the office with information for a full eight-page newsletter for the upcoming month.

Business Discussed

The stories the UAM representatives felt were necessary to include in the upcoming issue included the monthly letter from the company president and a half-page information box on the employee of the month.  In addition, the response question was developed.  This question will be addressed to UAM employees regarding the plant in which they are employed.  The questions presented as possibilities ranged from serious topics (i.e. factory mishaps, profit losses) to humorous ones (i.e. strangest product to come off the line).

The meeting followed the usual business structure.  We began with introductions by both companies being represented, followed by a recap of the issue published the month before.  The stories that did not make run in the previous issue were reopened and updated for the upcoming publication.  Following this summary, new stories were introduced with creative briefs being developed and a round robin agreeing or disagreeing on producing the story for release.

Upcoming Issue

The final draft of upcoming stories was agreed upon and the required fees for production granted by the head of communications.  The account manager and I left the UAM building after three hours of deliberation and decision-making.  Next month the UAM employees will receive information about their company through the newsletter we began producing immediately upon returning to the office.
